Arrest of Lao Sex Creator For Opening Private Groups For Child Indecency

He was charged with: “Possession of child pornography for the purpose of seeking sexual benefit for oneself or others; for the purpose of trade or by trade, for distribution or for public display; making, producing, possessing, importing or causing to be imported into the Kingdom, exporting or causing to be exported out of the Kingdom, taking away or causing to be taken away, or making widespread by any means such child pornography; importing into a computer system data of a pornographic nature that may be accessible by the general public, and disseminating or forwarding data while knowing it is pornographic; and being an alien entering and staying in the Kingdom of Thailand without permission.”

The arrest occurred because police from Sub-division 4, ATPD, were informed that a user of the application X under the names “Phanuwat73k” and “Banana73k” was disseminating pornographic video clips of young boys, along with messages inviting people to apply for a secret group to watch the full videos. The application fee for the secret group was 139 and 259 baht. Police from Sub-division 4, ATPD, therefore collaborated with the IPA organization to investigate by going undercover in the said secret group. Once the application fee was transferred, the admin added them to two secret groups. Both groups combined had over 500 members and contained a large number of pornographic video clips of young boys. Officials investigated until they learned that the admin of the secret group resided in a resort room in Mueang District, Surin Province. They gathered evidence to request authority from the Surin Provincial Court to issue a search warrant and entered the resort room on July 4.

Upon the search, officials found Mr. Chaiyaphol along with evidence: a mobile phone used with the X accounts and the secret Line group accounts. From checking the mobile phone, they found a large number of pornographic video clips showing sexual intercourse with boys, and also found video clips of Mr. Chaiyaphol committing indecent acts in public.

Furthermore, from the search, they found Mr. Chaiyaphol’s clothing worn while filming the pornographic videos, sex toy equipment, and bank accounts, totaling 9 items of evidence, which were seized as evidence. Upon checking, it was found that Mr. Chaiyaphol had no travel documents for entering and staying in the Kingdom of Thailand. Officials therefore arrested him along with the evidence and sent him to the inquiry officials of Sub-division 4, ATPD, for legal proceedings.

From the initial investigation, the suspect confessed to being the user of the X accounts and the admin of the secret groups. Regarding the child pornography clips in the secret group notes, he was the one who produced and created the videos, then saved them in the Line secret group notes for those who paid the membership fee to watch. He had been doing this for almost a year, earning over 100,000 baht. He had entered Thailand without permission and also just learned that he had contracted a serious illness from filming the content, as he did not use protection during intercourse.
